Can I ask a silly question? Is this VFR scenery and is this FSX?

Why not Tom, it goes with your new career!
Yes it is FSX and Horizon VFR scenery that runs at the newer 1M resolution allowed in the new sim. It is actually good enough for proper VFR navigation, I suggest that you buy a copy as I think it will be very useful learning the area between Benson and Salisbury Plain or even the Brecon Beacons, which could come in handy.

As Trev mentioned its ideal for VFR training for the real thing! However the first batches of the scenery were peppered with bugs and minor issues which have been addressed via several patches. The only bummer at the moment is the fact there is no night lighting or landable water inland. The developers are waiting for the SP1 patch from M$ and the release of DX10.

Be even better when thats sorted out.

Not that I know of, the old visualflight/horizon stuff was as good as you could get. There's some fab freeware stuff for large chunks of America, but not the UK... unless someone knows differently?

Kind regards

John

PS.. nice picture on that banner
