Scenery compatability

Post by stegs »

Hi all

Would a FS2002 airport scenery work OK in FS9?

I think the clearest answer is

Some will and some wont ..

Trial and error is the key here.

I have tried FS2002 airports that crashed the FS9

But I have also tried even older that worked a bliss.....

I think one of the biggest difference is the AFD/AFCAD between 2002 and 2004.

I try to use only older airport sceneries that has an AFCAD version as well ..

There may be elevation issues too mate. Don't forget that Bill changes the world with each new release  Easiest way is to try one and see

Classic example there is the Edwards AFB scenery from Dennis Waggoner; it worked perfectly well, apart from the fact that any parked AI aircraft were hovering at about 100 feet!!

If you do get any issues with elevation there is a nice utility from Jacky Brouze, called Jabbgl, on Avsim. You can find it here:
