Imperial War Museum...

Post by petermcleland »

This is a rather interesting URL...You need to click on the word "TIMELINE" and then when you are in it, DRAG the blue "Time Line" left or right along the page and then click any photo for its content. My wife Nica at MAY 11th. Some content has a "Sound" icon to click and Simon Weston has a "Video" icon to click (a very moving video).

The "MAP" is rather well presented...let your mouse pointer dwell on the various text headings.

I might have to go there before I'm back home for summer.

I went to the National Army Museum Falklands exhibition but was dissapointed with it.

Thanks for that, Peter. It doesn't seem like 25 years since I was there.

Keith and Chockhead,

I wonder if you would tell us what outfit you were with then

Even perhaps a few thoughts on the IWM anniversary exhibition?

Thanks for any reply

I was there on Thursday and it was really good. Great displays and a very moving holocaust exhibition. They have a Lancaster, and I think Halifax fuselage section to look into. A great day out!

Chockhead

Thats beautiful - quietly understated , no "how we won the war" garbage - just a group of very professional people doing what they were taught in deplorable conditons - To all the people who served 25 years ago - Thank you

Good video and a poignant text at the end.

Seeing the Uganda takes me back - she was a regular visitor to the Clyde when I was growing up there - where have the last 25 years gone?
