Cool artwork there Andy  Just remember NOT to loop in an RN Lynx. The dunking sonar doesn't like it much! :worried:

That actually is the reason you don't see RN Lynx's being too wild at airshows mate. That said, what they do now looks pretty darned hairy  Wonder if they recalibrate the sonar before going 'live' again

Fair enough.. yeah they still do some interesting manouvers! Maybe they detach the sonar kit first?

Appologies for the size, but I didnt want to resize it down too much!

I think the secret is in HOW they place the aircraft mate. What might look like a roll to the crowd isn't .. that's the clever bit

Great paint and one I'll be adding to my collection

Thanks Dave, I've been told that RN Lynx 8's don't have a dipping sonar?

Hi Andy,

Without checking, I honestly don't know I'm afraid. If those shots are of a Mk8 and Mk8's do NOT have a dipping sonar (non wafu's refer to them as dunking cause we don't know better.. at least this one doesn't! gggg) then you have my profound apologies  Things move on but I seem stuck

EDIT..
You know.. you stand and watch airshows for years taking so much in and disregarding the bull but every now and again.. something gets through and sticks.. regardless of whether it be fact or fiction. The particular piece of cr@p that is relevant now came from Duxford (yes.. I should know better!!) and was accepted without the little grey cells questioning it. Don't ask me why because I honestly don't know :dunno: Needless to say, the apology above stands
