FSX Tower view

Post by VEGAS »

Hi all,

I am hoping someone can assist with a small query. Basically I am trying to do something that I used to do in FS9 but FSX does'nt seem to allow unless I am being really dense and missing something really obvious.

What I would like to know is - Is it possible to drag the tower view around like it was in FS9? By this I mean going into Map view and clicking on the tower icon and literally dragging it to were ever you want the tower to be and also if required you could adjust the height of the tower so that you could watch your aircraft taxi-ing past you on the ground. FSX does'nt seem to have this facility in Map view and its a nice little touch that I really miss as it made for some brilliant views as your chosen Aircraft thundered past on the taxiway.

Any ideas or is it not an option?

from what i read Eddie....

from here
http://www.flightsimulatorguide.com/fsxfaq.htm

- Unfortually, that is not longer possible, the towerview mode in FSX is static and can not be edited

.............
but maybe someone will comeout with a fix?

do you use the right click and see different default tower views?

Now that's a shame

I move the control tower position to watch from different angle every single flight I make.

That is something I do more than anything else.

I hope they bring that back :worried:

I believe you can move the flyby view (which is technically more correct as you can't go moving towers in real life. )

Don't know if thats any use?

Vegas,

I don't have FSX but does the Matthias Neusinger's recorder module not work in FSX ?

I use this module and the tower view options are very flexible

I know that you can play with the cameras, as it is called in FSX, there is a special chapter in the SDK regarding cameras. Haven't read it though, but I'm sure something in there could be used.

I think the manipulation with the views is broaden somewhat with FSX, I just haven't looked into it yet, as I haven't had any use for it.
