Does anyone have this problem when using the viscount in FSX in that you are unable to start the engines. I start the engines as per the instuctions and the same as in FS9 but they fail to fire up.You can hear the starter operate when you select the engine but when you open the HP cocks the start sequence doesnt continue. This doesnt happen in FS9.
Also tried Ctrl E but that doesnt work either.[dont think it does in FS9 either]. some times I can get 1 or 2 of the engines started but the rest fail to start.
The plane and panel seems compatible with FSX and all the guages appear ok so not sure why this is happenning.Maybe cause it was designed for FS9.
Any info appreciated
Many thanks

Hi Richard
I don't know about the Viscount but certainly some aircraft won't start in FS.X
The 748 is difficult although I did manage it eventually with the demo.
So I would not be surprised if this was the case here

It seems that any aircraft imported to FSX thar has a custom panel has trouble with starting the engines.I had the same problem with the 748 so I aliased it to the King air panel and it seems ok.Although no as reasistic.
Maybe could do the same with the viscount but havent got a 4 engine prop panel in FSX!Cant find anything on the internet.
If anyone knows of a 4 prop panel that may work please post details here.
Many thanks

Ive found a solution for the starting problems.Copy the throttle quarant and overhead panel from the default 747 panel config[lines 3 and 4] to your viscount panel ,you need to copy the bit maps and guages to your viscount panel folder from the 747 folder as well.[the guages file is in the panel folder named boeing747-400.looks like a zipped file but dont unzip it]use the 2 panels you just added to start the engines and they start fine. You can then close these panels as they are no longer needed.
Alternatively an easier method is to use the complete 747 panel although that is totally unrealistic.
Hopefully the viscount panel will be updated to be completely compatible with FSX at some stage, but this seems a good woraround.
