With the lovely weather, I decided to spend the afternoon at the local Hamerton zoo.
Here are a few pics

Those Hamerton meerkats are always disgustingly photogenic!! I don't remember the cheetah, it must be a new addition since my last visit (which was, admittedly, a fair while back).

They've just realised how close to Peterborough they are living. I had the same expression on my face for fifteen years!!

Thanks for the kind comments.

The Lanc was an added bonus
What camera/lens equipment are you using?
Eric.

I have a Nikon D200, with a Nikkor 70-200 F2.8 ED AFS lens. Also a Nikkor 2X teleconverter. This gives an equivalent of 210-600 F5.6 with a 35mm SLR.
If I can get close to the fence and the animal is some way back, the fence is so out of focus as to be almost invisible.
Thankfully there was a fence between the Cheetah and me.
The Kukkaburras seemed happy to have their photos taken and I could have watched the cheeky little Meerkats all day

Cheers

Kevin
