1-11 cold start/apu problem

Post by jnr641802 »

I have been flying the magnificent 1-11 for about a year and had a go at 'cold starting' today.

I have followed the checklist but the APU/apu fuel valve closes down after approx 5 mins everytime and will not restart.I have searched the forum but can't find an answer.

Have I missed something, any help would be much appreciated.

regards Jim

Hi Jim

You stated you have been flying the 1-11 for a year now, do you have the latest release of the 1-11 which has been out since only October - November of 2006?

If not I would strongly advise to download these first then delete your present ones before installing the updated BAC1-11s' which come with an automatic installer.

http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/bac_1-11.htm

Alternatively go here and have a read of Flying the 1-11. Page two explains the procedure for starting the APU.

Hope this helps.

Regards Nigel.

Nigel thank you for helping.

I have the latest updates but blimey....how did I miss the flying the 1-11 etc help section on the main DM flightsim page!

It appears I was not tripping the APU generator control switch after APU startup and hence the APU was automatically shutting down after 5 or so minutes.

Thanks again.

regards Jim
