I have another query that has bugged me for some while concerning landing light beams or indeed any other type of light that displays as a beam in FS9.
When I started out I downloaded and read as much as I could about modelling in FSDS and during this time I obtained Dave Eckharts various viewlet tutorials.
Amongst these was his landing light tutorial as compiled in FSDS version 1.5.
On the last page, page 28 is a picture of an aircraft in FS2000 displaying a perfectly placed landing light beam. I had tried to contact Dave via email a while back but I guess he was busy.
This is part of my query, how on earth can I get the landing light beams to display like this in Fs9, or is this just not possible? Maybe, having the light source coming directly from the lamp is not how it should be for real. Would we or indeed do we actually need to see a solid beam so accurately placed? In truth, I don’t know but I just wondered how this was achieved.
I know how to shorten the beam, have never had any success in narrowing it though, despite various experiments and third party intervention. Again it may be that this is just not possible in Fs9.
Any bright idea’s please
Regards
Peter
