Lancashire Aircraft Corporation Rapide

Post by Bridon Bear »

Hello Chaps,

Just completed this repaint of DaveG's fabulous Rapide. I happened to find a colour profile of this one and was inspired to have a go at the old girl....

Lancashire Aircraft Corporation used a couple of Rapides for various duties including aerial photography. This particular one G-AKNV was used in the second livery style of LAC.

Hi Dave,

Yes I was aware of the other version published a couple of years ago by the late Leon Louis.....I thought of passing it by as it was already covered but there were some inaccuracies on that paint and with (possibly) new info coming to light from a restoration group in Belgium http://users.skynet.be/BAMRS/dh89/dh89-en.htm I decided to give it a go.....Not thought about downloads  .......so I may upload it to the usual sites....... :cpu: ...The Pond, All Nodes and Avsim after all and see what happens

Regards.

Well...I have uploaded the old girl (G-AKNV) over at 'The Pond'....

Also as a first for me it is up at both Avsim and Flightsim.com.....upload seemed straightforward at both of these sites although it could be a day or so before the file 'appears'... :worried:

Anyway, I hope whoever uses it gets as much fun from the 'New Suit of clothes' as I had making 'em...

Regards.

Very nice BB

CBF will be as soon as someone picks it up, Avsim should appear anytime, they update throught the day and allnodes should be mid afternoon.

Nice repaint Brian. Not my favourite colour though

That reminds me, I must try uploading the FSX Rapide to the Pond again. I did try a while back, but it didn't appear :dunno:

Yeah, I'm with Dave - looks like a flying bucket of sick, but I gotta have it, it's just so... different! Excellent job!

this may be a silly question, but do these nice new suits fit on the Fs9
version for those of us that don't have fsx running?
