So it is July again, although you could be fooled into thinking otherwise. I am going to the GP tomorrow and have heard that my campsite resembles a quaqmire. It should be good fun anyway even if it does resemble Glastonbury at high tide.
Is anyone else watching or even going?

Ah the Silverstone campsite, I spent many 'happy' nights there trying to get some sleep when I crewed the snatch/fast response fire vehicles in the late 80 to early 90s
I am afraid I would not pay for the experience nowadays and this weekend will watch the GP (on video to FF the ads
) having spent the day on the beach
Despite the weather, the crowd will be as rowdy as the 'Mansell Army' days this year, I cannot help thinking that is if Lewis is going to cock-up or break down, Silverstone will be the place

Will be away on the day but have it earmarked for recording.
Just loved the remark that Lewis gave regarding Micheal S.
He was looking forward to going wheel to wheel with him in F1 and on arriving he bales!!!
Must have seen the threat!!

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
gave up on Silverstone about four years ago, too damn expensive. Take myself and my son to Monza instead, for the cost of 3 days admission and air fare it sill works out cheaper than going 40 minutes up the road. Plus kids under 13 get in for free! can't imagine Silverstone doing that, although did have some good times back in the Mansell era.
Oh and the weathers guarenteed SUN!!
Plus I'd rather spend three days surrounded by Ferrari fans than three days surrounded by glory hunting Brits!
Right that's my little speech over with

I gave up going about 20 years ago. I prefered it when I could leave Guildford at 06:00 & be driving through the gates of Silverstone at 08:15, and no queueing.
I went back one year about 5/6 years ago and was disgusted with pit walkabout. Back when I was a regular when you went on the walkabout the cars were lined up outside their garage, side on. Some with the body work on, some with it off so you got see the cars properly. Also the drivers used to come out as well and talk to the crowd. When I went back the other year all the cars were in the garages so all you could see was a 'distant' head on view. That is until you got to the McLaren pit where there was a screen in front of the cars. as for drivers, what drivers.
