Anyone got any resources on the Chrislea C.H.3 Super Ace?

Post by Reheat »

Afternoon Gents!

I'm wondering if anyone has any suitable resources (3 view's, plans etc) for the Chrislea C.H.3 Super Ace?

I only have a few low quality files and a very small (300px by 300px) 3 way view, which I have been trying to work from but its a ruddy nightmare, can't blow it up to a sufficiently usable resolution either.

So its time to ask for help.

Anything and everything accepted, photos etc included.

All the best,

Alex

Here you go Alex,

Unusual subject but nevertheless a British aircraft.

I have put together all the data that I have here, there is a small 3-view scanned at 600dpi the rest at 300dpi. The larger coloured drawing seems to be of strange colouring but it should help you.

I was able to photograph a real one a couple of years ago so there is an active example flitting around the fly-ins. These photos are included in the PDF, they were taken at Henstridge and I was pleased to see that there is quite a good shot of the panel layout...which is rather unconventional as you will see...!!

Best of luck.

What a great choice, Aeroplane did a feature on it some years ago.

The earlier Ace was designed (for those who did not know) to fly without rudder pedals  The yaw controls were on the yoke! Just the machine if you still twist your joystick  :worried: The Super Ace went into production with conventional controls, however.

Hi there Guys,

Thank you so much for the info posted, its absolutely brilliant.

My ISP went belly up on Wednesday so haven't been able to get online since then. 3 days with no internet does a lot for development though, just glad I managed to get those files before it did go!

Thanks a lot once more. Lets hope between us we can bring this bird to life.
