Ralf Manteufel Collection on A.net

Post by Garry Russell »

A search on A.net for Ralf Manteufel will bring up 355 fascinating pics taken at mainly Berlin airports in the 1960's

Many subject, some rare and very much 'the time' of many of the members here

Link to take you straight there

I was fascinated by no 57, a BEA Trident 1 in very unusual green livery ( green stripe ) and also by ( about) 230 - a Caravelle streaming a chute

The Trident is a PIA Trident that was used for trials by BEA.

I think it may have been to do with the LE slats.

It was in then PIA livery and was briefly G-ATNA

The red Square was a rectangle as it was used to cover the tail logo

A pic was published of it on her recently in a side on shot.

I did a paint of it some time ago

Great pictures, from the days when airliners didn't all look the same
