Seaboard World C-46 Commando

Post by St.Paddy »

Hi Chaps/Chapesses,

In Richard Wrights October 1966 ABC World Airline Guide, this aircraft is mentioned as flying connecting services to the Intercontinental flights within West Germany.

Can anyone confirm this?? :dunno:

If, this is the case, does anyone have a photo or know of one on the 'net'? HELP

Regards,

Tim

Hi Tim

Nice to see you.

Seaboard.....were those the ones operated by Lufthansa one of which was in their livery?

I'll see what I can find out.

There was a thread a while ago but I've forgotten the details

I'll be back :)

Right

It was Capitol that had a load based in Germany operated for or by Lufthansa one of which was in DLH livery

Seaboard had one based in Germany to operate freight flight into and out of West Germany (N10427)

Hi Garry,

..thought you might be quick off the mark :prayer:

I am certain I saw a photo of the aircraft somewhere on the web but I can't find it now - tried all the usual suspects!

Flightplans are ready for upload to RetroAI but we now need a repaint of the C-46. I've done the Dee Waldron DC-8 (horribly I must admit  ), but it'll do for me until someone does a more professional job.

Nice one Ian

I hoped you'd pop in but you've not been around much lately so I didn't mention it :)

Textures are for Mike Stone's C-46. Mike's models were considered light on framerates, so should be ok for AI. Since Mike's website is no longer available, you'll have to look around for it elsewhere. I found it at http://www.simviation.com/fs2002vintage14.htm

Seaboard World textures in DXT3 format are here for now:

I believe that there are Seaboard textures for the SimOuthouse C-46, but that may be heavier on framerates. They are not mine, but I can probably find them if that is your preference.

PS Garry too much real world getting in the way - eg annual expedition of mother and then mother-in-law to visit :o

Hi Ian

I've seen various folk on different forums dissappearing of late for the same reasons.

Nice to see you still popping in now and then :)

As to Mike Stones aircraft they are generally light on frame rates and with their relitively simple textures they do make good AI. :)
