I know the type Derek. I think the term is 'Portable' rather than mobile While visiting the Shipwreck Museum in Charlestown, I was a little unnerved to see a receiver (B40) I'd had fitted to at least 3 ships I'd served on.. not the actual one you understand, the same type

They all seem to have little units with thick, stubby ae's on em now to talk via satellite.. similar to that second unit Graham has the option on. Perhaps that's what it is.. a vibrating sat phone :o
