Thanks guys for the heads up to the engineering page videos.

The ‘No.4 Engine going to max’ video shot from in the cockpit; that’s it, that’s THE sound I remember so vividly as a kid at Waddington Family's days, and probably more than any other reason it’s for that noise that I so dearly want the see a Vulcan grace the skies again. It’s such an unearthly howl just hearing it on that video set my spine tingling, Fantastic. :)

When trying to explain what a Vulcan sounds like on it's take off run the closest description I’ve come up with is; it’s like a large and heavy old chest of draws being dragged across a wooded floor . . . . x1000. With luck, soon I wont have to try and put it into words any more. :yipeee:

Alternatively, instead of trying to explain, just sit back and listen! :tunes:

Can't wait! Being only a youngster around these parts (all of 18 years), I've never seen a Vulcan in flight (not at an age I'd be able to remember it, anyway)... The first time I see it lift off/materialise on the horizon will be something special... :o

It's a bit like concorde... anything Olympus powered made that fantastic sound, but (like concorde) the Vulcan has four time the fun :yipeee:

Its a sound I never thought I'd hear again, but can't wait to hear again!

Great to hear that sound again after all this time and look forward to seeing her in the air.

Well remember a mass scramble at Finn. Awsome.

I can only hope that Oshkosh puts up the funds to bring her to AirVenture in the next couple of years and a few others put up the funds to have a full US Tour as happened back during the heyday of the Vulcan. Would be awesome to see XH558 and any US Bomber do flybys together, most especially a B-52 and a Vulcan since they were contemporary stalwarts of their country's leg of their Strategic Triad (well...Strategic Force in the case of the UK...) and thus were the "ultimate" symbol of power for each nation during those years. I think the best though would be a B-1B flyby with the Vulcan competing for who's the loudest. It'd be a pretty close match.

I can only echoe what's been said.

Yes it would be nice to see it flying with a B-1B or B-52 or even the Lanc, but I'm sure it will fly with the Reds as it did before, except this time will lead the formation, like Concorde did in latter years...now that WILL be a sight!

It might be a bit different now it's privately operated as to flying in formation with military types.

It remains to be seen, but at the moment I can only imagine it doing solo displays. :dunno:
