That looks quite neat :)

I don't have the RealAir spit, but I'm confident I could substitute it with a Hunter or something.

Jonesey,

It will be very simple to substitute any five fighters that fit onto that gravel patch. I have not made the AI Comet yet or the AI FlightPlans for the RTW Tour, but the Gate Guard is working already and I will be checking that the aircraft changes each Monday as I continue round on the "User" Tour...Tomorrow it is Honolulu to Pago Pago :)

I think I might attempt a RTW in the MAAM DC3 :) I think some extra fuel in the cabin would be required to get the extra 1000nm out of her though...

Jonesey, there was an in fuselage tank available for the DC3 and I think if you research, you could find the details.

BTW...some years ago before MAAM took the DC3, I flew Roy Chaffin's DC3 on a "Pacific Circuit" and it was pretty wonderful. I think all the pictures are gone now but it was a longish series. I know the DC3 is a bit slow compared to a jet circumnavigation but it is extremely comfortable and unlike a jet can be flown low down to enjoy the scenery without reducing the range critically. In fact, on several pacific legs I remember descending to low level to avoid adverse winds with great effect :)

I've found low and slow is extremely useful when crossing the pond too Peter. I had little option on 3 RTW trips (Dove/Varsity/Shackleton) and was pleasantly pleased to be getting close to neutral and in some cases tail winds below FL100. Doing the East-West in a jet at normal alts and you're fighting headwinds for the most part :o I was a little worried about my last leg across the Aleutians in the Dove so had a 'factory fitted' LR internal tank fitted :o No such worries when I did it in the Shack and Varsity ;-)

Yes Dave...I'm afraid that option is not available on my present Comet RTW so I have to put up with the winds. Got the Comet refueled and setup ready for tomorrows departure...Even did the checks up to Starting to save time. My saved flight is 15 mins before departure time. BTW...I love these "Brief Checklists" called from the Icon...Fabulous programming :welldone:
