when flynet is down

Post by Captain Pugwash »

as we ponder if flynet will ever get in the air, what do you do. well i know this is british and a classic but not flight. so after seeing ricks photo's last year on this subject. i noticed shipsim has been upgraded to 2008. and i was very surprised at the result. i know it ain't to fs9 standard as yet. alas its only to fsx standard with no stutters, but improving all the time.

Ahoy me hearties  I've had a blast around in Shipsim2008 too. Unfortunately, it kept my interest for only a day and I've not clicked on the icon since

For my part.. I've been flying EVERYTHING I've not flown since my VA addiction started (and nothing I fly on the VA) Been blowing the dust off my (cough) extensive Alpha collection and as an example, took the BONE up from SeaTac to MCL Field this very afternoon. ActiveSky6.5 on.. FL300.. Mach 0.9 all the way. What a gorgeous looking aircraft (and model too!) ;-) Done the same trip in the Alpha F-104 (but at Mach 1.9 all the way) and their B52 over the last week. Thank goodness my system couldn't handle all of Peter's trees so many were removed. I'd not have gotten it off the runway without the wings doing a little felling if I hadn't!

So that's it.. flying absolutely NOTHING I've flown on the VA for the past year but everything else. Enjoyed it too ;-)

Cowes harbour if I'm not mistaken, the old 'Castle' ships were better looking than these Red Falcon/Eagle are.

I actually tried the demo (which is fun, but not too difficult.......as long as you have a packet of quells handy   ). I have a mate out here who is a retired Merchant Navy Master, I am going to see how he fairs!
