An absolute tragedy. My thoughts are with the Pilots loved ones. :-(
I suffer from paranoid amnesia. I can't remember who I don't trust.Re: HU One down at Shoreham 17:16 HRS
Very sad news indeed, sincere condolences to the family and his friends.

A very sad day indeed. First this and then news of Colin McRae. Condolences to those affected by these tragic losses.

Re: HU One down at Shoreham 17:16 HRS
Seeing Pete's pictures I realised that this was the Hurricane that flew throughout the Goodwood Revival a fortnight ago. The weather was heavily overcast for most of the weekend, and I was north of the main display flightline, so this is one of the few decent shots I got all weekend. I was at Biggin Hill when the Invader crashed during the show in '80, so can sympathise with how Pete feels.

Sincere condolences to the pilot's family.

No thats the Hurri Rick
One less beautiful Aircraft to grace our skies and one less truly dedicated pilot..........
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
God Bless

Deeply saddend by the news.
By way of my own tirbute, a couple of photos taken at Duxford only a week ago

Condolences to his family and friends.
May he rest in peace
Kevin
Edit - I've withdrawn the second photo, as I'm not sure this was the pilot involved.
