Hi James,
Many many thanks for your response and efforts, it’s much appreciated.
I realised at the time of posting that asking about one particular paint scheme on one particular aircraft which was only on it for a short time, would be a bit ‘hit ot miss’ if anyone would know the answer, or have a photo. but your quite right with your reference to the gold sections on the leading edges of the wings and tailplane.
Hunting down pictures of XS458 I later stumbled onto the UKAR forum (UK Airshow Review) and noticed a couple of recent photos of XS458 (in 111 colours), so posted there. Thankfully the guy who'd posted there had a rear three-quarters picture squirreled away, which he was kind enough to post in response for me. The photo clearly shows the upper wing surfaces with the gold leading edges that you quite rightly mention and a black/blue triangle section behind by the fuselage.
The models coming along slowly, a bit too slowly, but I’m getting there. The VC has been put on hold for the time being whilst I try to concentrate on getting the external model & crew finished first – would have liked to do a couple of skins (LTF bare metal scheme - XS451 as previously posted now finished (now with bit more weathering and detailing), XS458 in the 50th anniversary scheme as per this posting! (which was split down the middle with that on one side and 111 colours (I believe) on the other), then perhaps XS422 to celebrate hopefully her eventual return to flight :yipeee: (bare metal, with red spine and wing tips) and a camo one with over-wing tanks & a tundercity one some time later........ should be done by time FS12 out!
Anyone know how to make afterburner .fx files, or know of good tutorial anywhere?? HELP
Regards Mike
