A loo too :o

Unfortunately, however intricate the inside has been modelled.. I doubt I'll ever see it as I
never go past the flightdeck on
any model I fly. That sort of thing doesn't interest me |-)
Leify..
If the AP has been modelled correctly (and it sounds like it has).. the drift up and/or down is normal on the Sperry units as is being able to hold heading. Not got that far yet.

I don't like the 2D panel (which is where I like to spend my time).. it looks far too busy  I've not had an opportunity to fully explore the flight model yet but flying around Schiphol last night, it almost felt aerobatic :o
It wouldn't be fair to be too critical as I have an underlying problem with Douglas aircraft.. I don't like their flightdecks..
any of them but as this was a great looking model (which it is), I thought I'd dip my toe in as the price was right. Whether it turns out to be money well spent remains to be seen. I doubt it but this won't be for the first time either ;-)
EDIT.. Forget my comment on the old Sperry AP as it's not fitted. A little box of tricks bolted to the glareshield (taken off the real aircraft no doubt) replaces it.
Leif.. I didn't have the alt drop problem you saw on AP, quite the opposite. Took off from Schiphol and climbed to 3000ft. Levelled off and engaged AP. By the time I disengaged it (off the Kent coast) I was at 3685ft :o I found trimming for level flight very hit an miss. Just when you think you have it close.. it will start to climb at around 100fpm again and one slight tap on the down trim will have it heading for mother earth at some pace  If takeoff and landing performance are accurate.. it should be a doddle for shortfield ops. I touched down at Manston (still in full control and on full flap) at 51kts!! It's off the ground at flap 1 not much more than this with full tanks :o AP warning sounds are a bit odd aren't they. You get a familiar beep, beep, beep when AP is disengaged and a verbal 'Take the controls' when it's engaged. Seems a bit @rse about face but no doubt what happens in the real one.
Anyway.. duty done. I'm glad that I've donated a few bob toward the upkeep of the real aircraft and after all, that's what it's all about ;-)
