Week Three of the Staff RTW Tour...

Post by petermcleland »

Week Three takes us from Nairobi, Kenya up Africa and across the Mediteranean Sea to Larnaca, Cyprus, on to Munich, Germany and finally up to Helsinki, Finland.

Well here we are on my old familiar dispersal where my "Signature" photo was taken with "Echo" in about 1960. Today, I'm in Comet "Speedbird 266" and I can see the Traffic Comet "Speedbird 208" is pushing back and about to taxy out...I'll give him a lttle time.

I have turned northwards to fly up the Rift Valley to look at old friendly places...This crater in the top of a volcano called "Ol Longonot" is in real life, not quite as shown here, but it is very similar...I have flown a Venom down around the bottom of the crater but when I did it in a Hunter, it was a bit tight and I had to use 20 flap! The real crater is smaller and steeper walled than this.

The very full sequence can be seen by clicking this address:-

But please be warned that it is another long and epic post!

Thanks for looking 8)

Speedpig...The Comet Ballet was a most beautiful production and the performance of the ballerinas was impeccable...I salute your great skills in producing and directing.

I would really love to think that I was even slightly involved in inspiring you...But I think that it is David Maltby who inspires us all :welldone:
