Apologies for Absense!!

Post by Trev Clark »

Hi Guys, just to let you know, we had the 'Mother of all storms' here on Friday, with major damage done to the local area and infastructure. It seems that my internet connection may be down for a while, so I am back to the internet cafe in the local town :'( It means that I am out of touch for most of the week and cannot post very much........not that that will be much of a loss

I fly back to the UK this week and hope things may have got back to normal by next week.
At least we only got flooded with rain water, not mud and sewage as seems to have happened in the town! I will post some pics once I get back on line, I have never seen weather like it anywhere, and niether have the locals :-(

Hi Trev,

I was just reading about it on the Nerjanow website - it does seem to have been a bit extreme! When I was there two weeks ago, the Rio Chillar was completely dry. The pictures posted show it practically overflowing! I hope you get over it quickly and without too much expense.

BTW, I must have been through Jete a couple of weeks ago driving down to Almunecar from Alhamas de Granada. That is a spectacular drive!

All the best,
Myles

Hi guys, I am still in the dark with my internet, but things elsewhere are getting back to normal now. I have tried to upload dozens of shots (I had to pass the time somehow) to fill our gallery (the front page one), but the site is running VERY SLOWLY today (despite a superfast internet cafe connection), so this will have to wait a bit longer. I took 30 minutes to upload about 10 shots!!
Hi Myles, yes you went right past my front door!! Let me know if you are passing again and you can come in for some refreshments ;-)
