VC-10 nose gear

Post by Grace Quirrel »

Chaps,

Can anyone advise why, on landing and taxy-IN, the nose gear flutters and won't turn, as though the locking pins are still in!

On taxy-OUT and take off on a brand new flight, it's fine, turning beautifully and not side-slipping...

I remember this coming up quite a while ago now and yaw damper was the solution then.

Yes, while on ground turn off the yaw damper, and you'll be able to turn the nose-wheel.... (even with the keyboard) ;-)

turn it on just before take-off (if necessary at all)

I'm sure that's it. Will test the theory later...

Thank you guys. You are terrific.
