Howdy,
Anyone noticed this: if I save a flight (specifically in the Super VC10) when I reload it, the centre tank is bereft of fuel, despite being loaded at point of save.
I noticed this last night when I set up another long-ranger, and saved after I had the old girl trimmed out in the cruise. (previously I have sat with the flights and only saved at approach to destination).
This somewhat scuppers my plans for lunatic range flights if I can't get it sorted, as I can't be adding fuel when in flight!!!!! (plus it mucks the range etc up!)

Fsim doesn't really like centre tanks (I don't think it likes ANY tanks)
Doesn't Fsim burn the centre tank first and then move out to the wings. God.. I actually can't remember now :roll: :think: I know that when flying VA flights, if the amount of fuel you ask for is less than that required to fill the wings and centre tank.. it will fill the wings first and leave the centre empty. That is.. it will only use the centre tank if the amount of fuel required exceeds what can be carried in the wings. Some aircraft require a certain amount of fuel in the centre tank but generally.. you burn the centre first then move to the wings.
If you've noticed this happen a few times.. I guess that Fsim is seeing what fuel you had left when the flight was closed and loads the same amount into the wings when you restart it.
Does that make sense?? I'm not sure :roll:

You could be onto something Dave - but it can't be the total qty (with me anyway) - I would not have known for the fact that the checklist was several thousand pounds less when I opened the flight back up, and the range had been cut by 1500 miles...!
