The Qantas 707 restoration documentary (no no 56K)

Post by VEGAS »

Hi all,

I have just finished watching this fascinating documentary on the restoration of the Qantas Boeing 707 that was stood at Southend for many years. I really enjoyed the film and what a wonderful achievement it was, getting the old girl back in the air for her return journey back to Oz. If only this kind of thing happened more often.

Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7YXCODQx-E

Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rt6ZMPEWcI

Hope you enjoy it. :)

If anyone want to read the whole story + background etc. etc. a visit to this site would come in handy:

http://www.707.adastron.com/qfm/qfm.htm

Our very own Tony Madge has made a very nice repaint of VH-XBA available over at HJG...

(And it performs very well in FSX too, I might add)

The routing home was (also mentioned at the site) as follows:

Southend - Dublin -Tenerife - Hamilton(Bermuda) - Orlando(Hi to JT) - Los Angeles - Honolulu - Nadi - Sydney - (Longreach)

Have a nice flight, and remember to wear something appropriate ;-)
Best Rgds
Dan
