Non responsive engines
Hi all,
Earlier, I was playing around as one does in a '10, and fuelled up on the ground. Did a pushback, and then went to taxi - to no avail.
After about 10 minutes wondering, I relaised that my throttle control (even keyboard) was only working with engine 1. Even applying reverse did not help. A reboot was required, as engines 2-4 simply idled (they had been fine as I taxied for fuel).
Not being totally au faix with all the nooks and crannies of FS, is this just a glitch, or a possible switch I've pulled unknowingly?

Re: Non responsive engines
Hi Jim,
I think what you've done is inadvertantly made a keystroke you've not noticed as I've had similar happen with other aircraft.. particularly when in MP in FS9 (thought I was typing in the text window and I wasn't)
Try it once more and see if it happens again ;-) I'm not au fait with FS keystrokes even now (only the usual ones) so couldn't get back without doing something drastic!

It's E plus a number key to select a certain engine (in the same way you open the exits on an aircraft). So if your engine 1 was the only one working you've nudged E and then 1 in quick succession. To get them all working again just hit E and then 1 2 3 and 4 in quick succession.
(At least I think it's E by default, might want to double check your key bindings)

Cheers Guys - as I recall my hand did brush the keyboard while reaching for a cup of coffee........
Isn't it always the way - can't fathom something out and then look like a lemon when someone points out the obvious!!

Re: Non responsive engines
I only figured it because I installed FS9 on my dad's PC a few months back and left him to it, only to come back an hour later to find him cursing the PC as his DC-3 span round in circles on the piano keys.forthbridge wrote:![]()

Yes, just the way!
I was on a tower view. I now realise I must have hit a number as I closed the exits - I had opened them as I went to fuel...
It was then after a small pushback, I started all engines again, and kept applying power but not moving
It did move on full throttle, slowly (no wonder) - but it just goes to show..... something to be said for single engines....!

Re: Non responsive engines
I experience the same from time to time (in FS9), but I've never figured out what causes it. E1234 should set all throttles to work together but it doesn't.
But you do not need to reboot Flight Simulator. Reloading the aircraft should resolve the issue. I have key "R" assigned to do just that (not specifically for this purpose but ) mainly for testing but it comes in handy at times like this.

Hi John,
Yes, I had actually tried E2,3 etc to no avail now I think about it - and was so fed up I just rebooted
You know what it's like - a little hop in your mind and the Gremlins get in first
It's certainly been some finger issue..

Re: Non responsive engines
I find that E engine command seldom works . :-(
Some of the more recent panels have engine selectors which cures this problem
The only way arround it sometime is to reload the aircraft...it usually comes back in with full throttle command, no need to reboot or reload FS
Also the shift E 1,2 etc to open extra doors and the turn during pushback hardly work..on addons at least. :@

Re: Non responsive engines
I have the same problem.. including doors. Shift+e+1 e t c never works for me. I usually end up either losing panels or getting ones I don't want
As John said.. reselecting the aircraft again normally works ;-)
