The Brabazon will be great, how about a Princess? A Britannia would be very nice. The Britannia, I remember being taken out to the The Canadian Pacific hangar in Vancouver for the staff viewing of a brand new Britannia. That was 1958, and I still remember how good that gleaming aircraft looked. The Britannia has always looked a classic aircraft to me. Finally, a plea for a Comet mk1, which I will always think is the best looking of the Comets.

I must admit I agree on the comet, but DM has done a fantastic job on the 3's and 4's... info on the 1's and 2's is much more difficult to come by in order to build a model to the same standard... and knowing DM, I can't see him settling for anything less.

On the plus side, Garry has started early work on the brit.... see here....

well, your going to have to wait but I believe Mr Russell will do everyone proud with the most maligned and overlooked (Right up there with the
Nimrod) aircraft around, Personally (and yes Im very biased) The Brit was in my mind a beautiful looking aircraft and in my own professional
aquaintance with them they were NOT hangar queens , were marvellous to fly on, and made alot of money for both the companies that I was
associated with. Im really looking forward to both aircraft. There is I believe a 2002 Comet 1 that was upgraded to 2004 floating around somewhere.

The Comet 1 is pot luck

On some unstallations it comes up perfectly on others parts of the undercarriage are missing.

It use to be perfect here but a while ago I had to reload FS and it didn't come up properly after that :-(

For DispatchDragon, yes the Britannia was a really handsome aircraft, and that's how I remember it. In my post, I did not intend to imply that the Brit was a hangar queen! I mentioned the hangar because it was also a local pride and joy, having been built for the Britannia, and was taking Canadian Pacific into the big leagues. I cannot remember seeing the Brit fly locally (I was 10 years old then), but I certainly saw a lot of the Canadair Argus in later years, which was the plowhorse version of the thorougbred Britannia. The Comet 1, once again a really beautiful well balanced design, did DeHavilland ever make an awkward looking aircraft. There were a series of articles in Flight International which covered the proving flights of the Comet for London to Capetown, which I would like to recreate in Flight Sim. I have purchased FSGenesis Mesh for Africa (actually picked up the entire world, it's on sale). The sparse FS coverage of African fields is probably close to reality for the fifties, so it should be close. Just need to ignore all those navaids.

Lastly the hangar still exists, and is in use, they did build things well in those day's! It passed to the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Aviation school, which has an interesting collection of aircraft and powerplants, including an ex Air Canada Viscount. Not sure if they have it now, the large heavy metal training aircraft is an ex WestJet Boeing 737. The aviation school has now moved, but the hangar remains. Have to checkout the whereabouts of the Viscount.
