As I said (I have been following F1 all my life, so you get to know what will happen however annoying), they realised that this would really 'upset the applecart' so the fudged it! How can you impose regulations, but not have the correct data or facts to back them up.....only when you want a 'get out clause'. Still a winter of testing and training will be better for Lewis long-term, than a whole winter of PR work.

McLaren intends to challenge the stewards’ ruling in the FIA’s International Court of Appeal – leaving the title result hanging in the balance once again. They has notified the governing body of its intentions but no appeal date has yet been set.

This makes interesting reading.

All in all from what the stewards have said regarding the fuel temperatures, I do not think that an appeal will rule in favour of McLaren.

Also a very interesting interview with Max Mosley of his relationship with Ron and also that of Ferrari and of the comment regarding the moveable floor on the Ferrari, as it was ordered to be removed....that's all, I feel that if it had been any other team they would have had their points taken away from that race.

I saw a quote in an Italian paper from the Ferrari president Luca Montezemolo after the spy decision took Mclaren's constructors points away. He apparently said that Ferrari would win either on the track or in the courtroom it didn't make any difference which. :roll:

I completely disagree that it doesn't make any difference, I would much prefer to see the best man in the best car win on the track. But it would serve Ferrari right if they did get a dose of their own medicine.

Despite my admiration for what Lewis has done, Kimi won the most races and I for one have had enough of court rooms in F1. Some people call the FIA, 'Ferrarri's International Assistance', as they will always favour them in a legal matter.

ooh er, that's a bit strong isn't it ? I agree that some strange things happen, and perhaps more often than is good for the sport it tends to favour Ferrari , but the FIA is made up of more than Mosley. I think on the whole though that this season achieved in the end the correct result - Frankly I was put off Hamilton by the fact that whenever something went wrong, it was always someone else's fault - thus his off on Sunday was not the result of his bull at a gate error, but was, according to him, the result of Raikkonen lifting off . He is very talented, but not yet the finished product. A bit more maturity, and a bit less of his father , may be the making of him

I don't think it is. Max and Bernie go back a very long way, being the only surviving founder members, along with Sir Frank Williams of the Formula One Constructors Association. Bernie then of course got a lot of influence in FOCA, and did the TV rights etc. He didn't get on with the previous FIA president, and Max appeared to replace him. Bernie has recently bought in to QPR with Flavio Briatore, boss of Renault, who of course want Fernando back next year (on Sunday BE said openly he wanted FA to win "for the good of the sport"). Ferrari seem to have a lot of decisions swing their way. Max Mosley of course has said that he would favour Jean Todt, current CEO of Ferrari, as President of the FIA...

I also get the feeling they'd be very happy if the independants finally disappear completely, to be totally replaced be factory/manufacturer teams (as we've seen with the changes to BAR and Benetton in most recently) or teams backed by serious big money (a la Red Bull/Toro Rosso).
