Hunter and Jet Provost panels question.

Post by G-SWSM »

Hi,

I have both of the above packs, and think they are great. just one thing though, does anyone know how to engage the app mode on this panel.

I don't seem to be able to find a button of switch for it anywhere, and yet it will do this if you use the default FS9 button / keyboard assignment.

Many thanks.

PS does anyone know why I can't seem to get the great looking "Poachers" re paint to show in FS9, I can see the a/c in the preview pane, but it is showing as all grey, and not white and red.

Thanks again.

Steve.

Hi Steve, and welcome to the forum :)

The AP in these aircraft is only really there to make long flights easier. Approaches would be hand flown, hence no APP mode.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the forum.

With regard to "The Poachers" my aircraft cfg file reads: -

[fltsim.XX]
title=Jet Provost T3A Poachers
sim=FSDS2 Jet Provost T5
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=poachers
kb_checklists=Jet Provost T5_check
kb_reference=Jet Provost T5_ref
description=FSDS2 Jet Provost T5 Textures By Ben Hartmann Of UKMIL. Join Us! http://www.ukmil.org.uk
ui_manufacturer=Hunting
ui_type=Jet Provost
ui_variation=XW359 'The Poachers'
visual_damage=1
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=XW359
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_flight_number=XW359
atc_parking_types=MIL_COMBAT,RAMP
atc_parking_codes=AF

with the XX in the [fltsim.XX] being amended to the next consecutive number, and my texture folder for the aircraft named
Texture.poachers

Hope this helps,

Graham

Hi Guy's.

Thanks for the info. I understand now about the autopilot.

I should have realized really, silly me.

I still can't get the poachers to show up though.

Hi,

If it's showing in the preview pane then the cfg is probably ok but can't find the texture folder. make sure that the folder matches the name in the .cfg file e.g. texture.poachers if that's what it's named.

Also make sure it's not a folder within a folder of the same name.

Hi Guy's.

That did it, thanks to all of your comments. This made me re-visit the .cfg file and look again, this time I saw what it was.

The line in the .cfg for the texture read texture=XM305 or similar, I changed this to texture=poachers and all is well.

I only have one last question for you now, and that is have any of you ever encountered millions of tiny "flare" looking particles coming out of the back of this and the hunter at dusk time.

they are only tiny, but all go in a line that matches what the smoke line does in daylight.

Thanks again to all of you for your help.

Yes I have that too, but have not found a way around it, I think it is a 'modified' smoke effect not a MS one.
