Thats excellent - the 172 is a lovely aeroplane. Personally, I've always preferred low-wing aircraft - but having flown 172's from bush strips in Africa I've built up tremendous respect for them. Here in the UK, most flying school 172's are 15+ years old with analogue instruments, so enjoy the G1000 while you can

Cheers

What happened to my reply to this thread? I know I responded yesterday and it was confirmed when I got a "There has been a Reply" e-mail from this thread.

Yeah, it was last night. Well, I can't remember what I said for sure, but it went something like this -

Make sure it's the instructor taking pictures of you instead of you taking pictures of the instructor. That way when you're a pilot, you can look back and see how stupid you looked when you had just started. :)

BTW, welcome to the wonderful world of flying. :)

Chris is right about that - somewhere I have a photo of me leaning on the strut of a 150 at Biggin back in the dark ages after
Tony McNay solo'd me - on reflection my thoughts are "what a twerp' - and I'm probably right - bloody Pooley flight jacket, Cavalry twills and desert boots and a jillion ballpoints stuck in the sleeve pockets --- give me strength you would have thought
I was flying London to Sydney rather than three quick circuits of Biggin...ah well time marches on--- Good Luck Joe, remember its only a license to go out and scare the beejsus out of yourself
