Classic AI Package Beta Test

Post by tgibson »

Hi all,

I would like to announce the beta test of my latest update of the FS2004 Classic AI package. There are 10 new aircraft (including Dee Waldron's Heron and I created an AI version of Rick's Viking) and over 200 new liveries. In addition, much more of the world is covered with schedules from real timetables (thanks mostly to scans from a 1961 ABC Guide by Richard Wright). This includes a great many airlines in Britain. The years involved are 1957 through 1962, so only those modeling those years will likely be interested. However, there are new AI jets too (CV-990, etc.).

I would appreciate it if nothing is released publicly until the beta test is completed, and if you decide to test please post your responses in my forum, if you are registered there. If not, here is fine too.

The forum post that describes the beta test is here:

Thanks,

That is VERY good news indeed!

I think its time to make a separate folder for that era too, now that I have filled my FSX with 70'ies.

It is really great to be able to switch from one era to another depending on the days mood ;-)

Will look for "funny-stuff".

Well done Tom.

Got the AI placement figured, added loads of retro liveries from AI Aardvark.

But for online its fantastic to see Pan Am, TWA and Braniff represented by the right models and paints.

Smashing Dan ;-)

I pulled all the relevant bits last night and extracted the files to a dummy folder and agree.. the structure looks very easy to maintain. Will remove the old bits this afternoon and replace them with the new (with the exception of the Afcads) and see what was happening the year I was born

Yes, it is a gem isn't it? I've posted some more over at CC.

I now have all 3 eras from CC with the possibility to switch between them and additional the 70'ies pack I've made from RetroAI FP's So I think I'm pretty well covered now!.

Now I have to dug into a hole for a while to convert all the AFCADs to FSX-style.... to really enjoy the packages.

Very nice work there Tom... Bravo! :welldone:

Hi all,

Glad to hear they are working well. BTW, make sure you have an aircraft folder called AI Viking - it was left out in the first distribution. If you downloaded it after I posted here you should have it.

Hi Tom,

That was one of the first things I looked for  All present and correct and nicely in evidence at LHR. Tried the earlier two years thus far and suitably impressed. Nice to see Jersey Airlines Heron and Derby DC3 at Jersey ;-) Still got the later year to try and already I can't decide which year to be in! :brick:  Like Dan, it's prompted me to reorganise my own AI as I have a mishmash of years as standard
Visited many airports across the UK and selected ones in Denmark, Belgium and Germany and see a nice selection wherever I've been. ;-)
