Ah, OK.

I have seen this too - it turns out that if an aircraft is departing a certain part of the ramp, it interferes with planes taking that runway exit. Usually when the plane leaving the ramp finally gets past that point, the plane departing the runway will begin taxiing again. If not, then one of them will go POOF and the other one will be able to taxi.

Hope this helps,
Tom Gibson

Hi Tom,

Tks. I've seen it happen when 2 aircraft depart at the same time when one is inbound on the apron (Jersey is a classic place for this unless the order of parking is revised).. but this baby was sat on her own. When I saw her land, I was goofing in the 206 by the Air India hangar watching the 707/Vanguard and 2 Viscounts takeoff. Did a quick 360 to see if anything else was moving and noticed her sat where you see her in that screenie so popped over to see what was what. I suppose it could have been a parking issue with aircraft moving out of shot making her exit unavailable but I didn't see anything. I think she normally parks up where the Vanguards/Viscounts park.

Will keep an eye open to see if it happens again ;-)

I'm very happy to announce that I now have Wolfgang's EGLL61 up and working in FSX:A Textures and all. A smaller modification of the AFCAD to convert it to FSX-style. and that's it.

(Of course I had to install all the prerequisites Wolfgang mentions in the Readme, but apart from that it is a piece of cake)

It suits the new AI traffic very well.

Finally I just have to remove the jetways, as those weren't part of the old AFCAD, but that should also be pretty quick to fix.

FSX is beginning to look like something now!

Btw. Dave would you be able to point out the exit number?

I've just opened the "AFCAD" and I can see a few hold-short nodes are a tad too far away from the RWY.....

Wouldn't hurt to adjust them a bit.

Hi Dan,

You've asked which turnoff it is but I see you've posted a shot in the gallery with both those exits clearly shown! It's the FIRST exit left off 9R (you can see me sitting on the second) ;-)

;-)

OK, I have moved almost all the Hold Short nodes much closer to the RWY, in fact so close that the circle tangents the opposite side of the RWY. This should ensure that no-one got caught.

They were just within the allowable distance from the RWY before so I suspect that this was what was causing your problem.

Ah.. I notice that b is quite close to n  Never look at the keyboard (or what I'm typing for that matter) ;-)

On the other hand.. one could say that Dan is a dab hand with AFCAD's and as with many words, they get abbreviated over time to become Dab :cpu:
