I can't help it....

Post by DanKH »

I just swam away in the soundtrack from the LOTR - and did a search on Enya, then stumbled over this:

You Tube

My all time favorite film, and all time favorite female singer.

Both have a special beauty of their own......

What a beautiful, haunting song and she has the perfect voice for it. Thanks for posting, Dan.

P.S. Did you see the twot's comment who thought she sounded like Celine Dion? Must have tin ears.

Must admit, that I was hypnotized by looking at Enya, so I didn't take note of the comments ;-)

If I ever die, this should be sung over my coffin .. ;-)

My favourite Enya is her singing "Theme From Harry's Game" which she sung when she was still with Clannad. Another very haunting song. I think it was used in the movie "Patriot Games"

I'll die trying!!!!!

As Nigel says, this is a hauntingly beautiful song. Somehow, I can't help feeling that it's been overly electronically enhanced. Could she really sound like that 'unplugged'?

Dan, I expect that since the song is part of a movie sound track, there probably was some "enhancement" That said she sounds bloody good on the Clannad albums I own and I expect there was less studio tinkering on those. It would be great to hear her live to see, but to me she has one beautiful voice, studio enhancements or not.

Incidentally, today I found the DVD of "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" for $6.50 so I snapped it up pronto.

Psssst Nigel, that was Maire Brennan. And yep. Perfectly haunting music.
