Playing around with the latest FSX SDK I managed to get it integrated with my 3DS and exported a model after using the verification tool to clean it up. However although the XtoMDL window says it's 'Processing Animation' for a number of parts, non of them actually do anything in the game. There's currently no animation what so ever, and the gear is in the up position which looks a bit funny. The xanim file appears to have all the correct entries in and I've tried updating the FS9 animations using the tool provided, and creating FSX ones from scratch.
Does anyone have any ideas?

RTFM! It turns out that although you can generate an MDL from inside max that function isn't currently supported. Used XtoMDL externally and I've now got animations.
