FS2004/FSX Fairey Flycatcher Update. "The bent bodied, blue note, Navy bird" the Flycatcher, produced in 1922, gave to the British Fleet Air Arm a fighter which was as good as the best of the land based aircraft. A wolf in sheeps clothing when it came to aerobatics. By Frank Elton.

I really like Frank Elton's planes although their VCs look
dated by FSX standards.

The Flycatcher has an interesting bugs, at least the copy
I downloaded did.

Although the undercarriage doesn't retract the
"G" key fires an audible circuit and the plane
will bury itself into the ground on landing in
the way that a plane with its undercarriage retraced
will if landing is attempted with the undercarriage up.

To correct this Contact Points 1, 2 and 3 can be ammended
to:

point.0= 1, -15.304, 0.000, -2.890, 1575, 0, 0.238, 60.000, 0.300, 2.500, 0.200,
0.000, 0.000, 0
point.1= 1, 1.545, -3.753, -7.650, 1575, 1, 0.520, 0.000, 0.543, 2.500, 0.626, 0.000,
5.000, 0
point.2= 1, 1.544, 3.823, -7.650, 1575, 2, 0.520, 0.000, 0.543, 2.500, 0.626, 0.000,
5.000, 0

These points will also correct the tendency for the aircraft to
have flat tires when taxiing.

Rather than aliasing the sound to the default Vega I
recommend downloading A.F. Scrub'bs Grebe and
substituting the sound file. The Grebe used the same
Armstong Siddely Jaguar twin radial and Scrubb's
Grebe has a dedicated sound file that's mean't to
replicate its tone.

This plane is certainly fun to fly, and the weathered
textures are superb. Indeed Frank Elton's paint
schmes are all wonderful in their ability to present
aircraft that look used, rather than pristine models
straight from the factory/
