Ah, De Havilland... Doves

Post by PeteP »

I spent an enjoyable couple of hours this morning rooting through the photo archive at the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum looking for something for Garry. A side effect was that I came across a number of photos that might be of interest here. All the photos are marked "De Havilland Photograph. This photograph may be published without payment of any fee" so, I guess, no copyright issues.

DH Herons to follow.

Lovely shots Pete

Oh that gleeming metal :tab:

Reminds me of when the aircraft flew overhead on landing or take off, the flickering reflections as it passed along, reflecting the scene below 8)

Thanks for that :)

Hi Pete, by jove I do miss that place, a few years ago the library was inhabited some of the 'od guard'style of volunteers who thought that anybody under 60 was bit of a 'whippersnapper' and never made them really welcome in thier cosy domain.

I am glad you are now making light of the real treasures that were being hidden in the 'little club' that the library used to be. Keep it up, its great to see this stuff coming out into the real world at last! It's all priceless ;-)

Garry,
I think you can give yourself a pat on the back for providing me with a reason to go poking around in the archive. ;-)

Trev,
Things are changing - for the better I hope. Would you believe we'll have 2 computer controled touchscreen displays ready for the re-opening on 1 Feb with a 3rd due to come on line in April and another 3 planned (funds permitting) for later in the year.
Best
Pete
