I was at the NASA tracking station on RAF Wideawake , Ascension Island at the time...

yeah that was a bad Day Tony...

I saw it from WPB, although we are well over a hundred miles from the Cape

it's easily spotted on a clear Day, the whole shop left the their work stations to watch

as we always did , but went back with our heads low and our hearts in our throats.

we just couldn't believe it............
