Most of what you see there is not in fact oleo, but the 'tube' the oleo slides in,
the actual oleo IIRC was only about 2-3ft long, and fitted inside the tube, connected
to the aircraft structure by a shortening linkage that meant that the overall leg would shorten and fold
as it retracted into the bay.

The VC pic is looking well, I remember the groundschool instructors referring to the Bucc
cockpit as " an ergonomic slum", it was OK once you got used to it! The main feature being the IFIS instrumentation.

ps what are the two strakes aft of the bomb bay?
IIRC, antenna's part of the 'Pave Spike' fit, each side of the rear 'Blue Jacket' 'doppler' antenna

UKmil, you need to animate the tailplane flaps!

didn't nick all of them y'know, from XW525 onwards they were built for RAF!

This is the first one I worked on, at Laarbruch @ late in 1981, doing the inner wing and rib-interspar 80 work to
get the fleet 'un-grounded'.
