Supermarine Attacker FS model w.i.p Early RN Carrier Jet Fig
Some of my chums and I are building a Supermarine Attacker in gmax. I've finally got down to having a go at gauges so this is one little project that might actually get finished.

As you can see from the movie clip it's looking a bit 'green' as we can't find anyone whose up to mapping textures onto the model. Would anyone at CBFS like to have a go?
If you would like to check out the gmax file you will find it here: http://www.dpsflight.com/ If anyone would like to play around with it you are more than welcome.

Hi DPS and welcome to our little abode!
That is looking very nice, some modelers here cannot get on with Gmax, but I am sure that you will pick up something to help.
I see that you are after some painters too, I think you may have come to the right place! I will let the ´talented ones´make contact with you themselves!

Hi DPS and welcome
Yep
This came up a few weeks ago and I couldn't understand exactly what is was about (not unusual)

Welcome DPS - It will be a nice addition to the upcoming Wyvern and SeaHawk

I've downloaded the gmax file and I'll have a look at mapping it over the next couple of days. It doesn't look that complicated but then nothing ever does...
You'll be better off with someone else doing the actual textures as well.

FDE needs a bunch of work - also contact points are off - I added the Vampir cockpit and meteor sound but it needs alot of work
No offence to anyone I hope - the arrestor hook works backwards - and it is very difficult to fly , but there is potential and its
a subject that hasnt been covered and would eb a good addition as I said previously

Leif, Wyvern and SeaHawk sound interesting.
I've just revisited the model after a couple of months away from it. It was very much built by a 'committee' The intake lips need to be rebuilt, but hopefully that will be a simple case of removing the nose section - doing an extrusion, etc - then re-attach the nose. BTW, I think the cockpit is a tad too small.
I remember having probs with the contact points. Interestingly, I've just built an SB2C - same problem - so I multiplied the gear contacts by the cosine of the body angle and lo and behold they were spot-on. I don't know if that was a fluke or if I've missed something in the SDK re. tail draggers.
I should be able to get better results from the flight dynamics if I devote a bit more time. Properly modelled, the Attacker should be a far easier aircraft to fly on to the deck of a carrier than an F4 or a Sea Vixen.

just saw the thread posted by Pete and led myself here. I'd be happy to paint her up if Skippy handles the mapping. Not that familiar with the Attacker, but that's nothing a little research can't fix.
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks for the show of interest. Feel free to chop and change the model as you see fit. I'm off to study gauges.

Nice to see this one being picked up, did a little digging around and came up with a few sites
that might help.
