Comet 3 Round the World route?

Post by dom1 »

Does anyone here know the actual route used by the Comet 3 G-ANLO that went round the world (first commercial jet RTW I believe?) in December 1955? I've looked all over the net but can't find exact details of where they went - just in case I might care to recreate the flights...

Thanks

I've got the route in R.E.G.Davies' Comet tome. I'll see if I can dig it out over the next few days.

This map comes from R.E.G.Davies' book on the de Havilland Comet. If you want to see the referenced image in the text, you need to buy the book, which has plenty more route maps once you've completed this run. :)

I have a scan that is twice this size, if you want it emailed.

Allan,

That's fantastic thanks! I think I'll order the book from Amazon (or try eBay first) but that's exactly what I needed to whet my appetite!!

My e-mail is dominicmahon (at) waitrose.com (but changed back to normal format!)- really appreciate your help with this
