Was this a low-risk backup for the Hurricane and Spitfire, like the Valiant was to the Victor and Vulcan? Very attractive aeroplane...

Actually it was Follands answer to the same RAF request - However as Bill states - Gloster were too busy turning out the very successful Gladiator for overseas market - Greek, Finns, Belgians etc etc that they didnt really pursue itWas this a low-risk backup for the Hurricane and Spitfire, like the Valiant was to the Victor and Vulcan?
