indeed, the guys are doing a stirling job. we have 3 of the original UKSD team, and one of our own, who made CBY. Along with the AI packs, of which the upcoming LEUCHARS will have built in TORNADO AI. But you can replace it with a Tomb pack

I admit our flyable models are still getting there, but I am learning with every model. I have only been Gmaxing for 6 months, and i think the bucc was not a bad effort considering the small time i have been at it

but, yes, the scenery coming out of UKMIL is PHANtastic

keep an eye for RAF WADDO due out any do too, along with a new RAF COLT, and HONINGTON

Dave C, have there been any reports of low frame rates with the Coningsby scenery? I get very fast fps with all of your scenery in FSX apart from Coningsby, where it drags my PC to so much of a halt that I'm thinking there is a bug somewhere. I drop to 5 or less fps when I load in at the UKMIL Coningsby for some reason even though the UKMIL Northumbria base works fine with everything maxed and lots of AI and ground vehicles at 30fps +.

nope no reports of that type at all. CBy has been out now for around 8 months, and no issues reported, so not sure there :dunno:

Must be something wrong at my end then. I'll have a play around and see what I can do.

Here's what john has to say with regard to the poor FPS:
It may be that the poor frame rate being experienced with Coningsby is that it is being used with FSX/SP2 or Acceleration. If that is the case the FPS will plummet to next to nothing because of the incompatibility of the SCASM code in the ground tiles and 2-D hard surfaces. The FSX version is currently for FSX out of the box and SP1 only.

I totally agree with that statement, the UKMIL Coningsby plus the Cranwell by the old UKSD guys are pure genious for one!

How AS can charge for what they do for thier 'poor-payware-quality' scenery is beyond me! cos freeware scenery rips them apart! AS need to stick to aircraft alone and improve them, and leave scenery for others in my opinion.

Well I have had a look at the Sherburn scenery and to be honest I really don't think it is a bad little package. The clubhouse and terrace are there as well as the 2 main hangars and the 1 out on its own, as well as the surrounding industrial areas. I have some screenshots but I do not know how to upload them here.

That would be why. For me FSX is unplayable without SP2.

John advises that an update is planned to allow for better FPS with SP2, this will be after the Waddington release at some point.

Hi Guys

Conningsby brings my PC down to single digit fps within 10 miles :worried: .
no idea why.

the only other scenery i ever had in FS9 that did this was the scottish airfield that came with the "Lago Tornado".

and i have an Uber PC.

for example UK2000 Gawick Extream is about 50 to 60 fps on here.

even default Tokyo with all sliders to the right gives me 35 fps (try it)

can't fly anywhere near conningsby so binned it.

the best i have seen yet is Cranwell 2007 which runs smooth as silk & just needs recompiling for FSX as transparencies are screwed up
it also looks superb and has no effect on framerate at all.

Regards
Rick
