As I heard it BAe either had a prototype airframe so to speak, or the original blueprints, which they'd got all the measurements from, and that worked fine. Then when they came to mate the wingbox up to the first 'production' unit there was a six inch gap!I'm LOL just imagining the problems! But surely BAE would have thought of that from an early stage?
