I was wondering if anybody has come across repaints of some of the 748s that have been operated in Nepal in the past?
Nepal makes some real nice sim-flying with the Himalayas in the background - and I would love to do it in the 748 which was the domestic workhorse in Nepal for more than 30 years.
There have been four known operators of the 748 in Nepal:
1) (Royal) Nepal Airlines
They started with two (c/n 1671 & 1672) in 1970 and added another one later (c/n 1771). They also had one on lease from British Airways in 1992/1993 which probably made for an interesting hybrid livery, but I have never come across a picture of it.
The RNAL 748s had at least wo different liveries

1988 Picture of 9N-ABR Old Colors c/n 1771
1985 Picture of 9N-AAV c/n 1672 Old Colours
2) Necon Air
Necon Air was one of the first airlines that made use of the liberalization of the domestic market and bought five different HS748 between 1992 and 1997, among them c/n 1537 and 1549 of 1962 vintage that were the oldest flying 748s back then. They also added c/ns 1784, 1806 and 1807.

1999 Picture of 9N-AEH c/n 1807

3) Nepal Airways
Nepal Airways bought two ex British Airways HS748 in 1994 (c/n 1798 & 1799) and operated them for about four years. I could only find a picture of a derelict example on Jetphotos which does not give much insight how the livery actually looked like. They were previoulsy operated by Emirates Air Services and probably did not get much of a paintshop before entering service with Nepal Airways.

1993 Picture of 9N-ACX c/n 1799 prior to sale to Nepal Airways
4) Nepal Air Force
And then there is the (Royal) Nepalese Air Force that acquired c/n 1698 in 1975 for the Royal Flight

Btw, of the 11 HS748, 3 were lost in accidents in Nepal, one of Nepal Airways (c/n 1798) and two of Necon (c/n 1806 and 1736)
If these are not aorund as repaints, would some kind soul be willing to do one?

Re: Nepalese HS748?
Thanks for your kind offer CHEERS
Errr, did not really think about the translation problem as most pictures I saw were with the english language titles. Seems to be one side with the airline name in English, the other side in Nepalese. What exactly do you need to know? A simple transcript, I would guess, does not necessarily help, does it?

Re: Nepalese HS748?
Tony,
I was having a go at a couple of 748 repaints and thought I'd try the "easy" white Necon Air livery as well. So far it looks like ...

A few more I've been working on over the last few days

I think they're getting close to being finished, but I've got to get the hang of Alpha Channel first ! If anyone can see anything obviously wrong on these I'd love to know.
Cheers

Re: Nepalese HS748?
Great stuff, guys
Looking forward to seeing them released !

P.S.: There was picture of the Army one in the latest issue of Airliner World. I understand that Nepal has ordered a Xian-60 to replace he HS748. What a shame ! :brick:
