Re: AH Comet on thw way?
From my own (limited) experience and from what I have read on various forums, AH (and those marketed by Just Flight) products tend to be very detailed but very FR heavy , on most systems.
Although the external model looks superb, I bet that the VC will struggle on my PC. This fact alone will be enough to ensure that the DM Comet will remain as the only Comet on my computer, it's VC is beyond a great many payware products in details and it runs well too! The price is right as well

Would agree with the comment about the AH stuff being very Frame Rate Heavy. I own both the Moth and the P-38 and both dont really get flown that much compared to some of the other stuff in my hanger simply due to the lack of frames.

Re: AH Comet on thw way?
I just got called 'insulting' *by the AH developer) at SOH for daring to say that the Comet was a 'brave choice' because of the exsistance of a very fine freeware one! Funny lot these developers :lazy:
I hope the new Comet sells well, but my comments about were purely on a personal level, as my system is now 2 years old and was never very cutting edge. Maybe this product will break the mold on FR heavy models from AH.

Hi Trev..
I've refrained from commenting for just that reason. No disrespect to the team involved.. just an odd choice given the existance of DM's models and the high esteme it/they hold
You have to remember there are folk out there who are totally unaware of freeware and likewise, those who are but consider it inferior because it's free. There'll be a market for a payware version.. no matter how good or bad. All you have to do is look at Gordon's stall at Duxford!

I don't think DM's Comet 4s can be beaten to be honest. Maybe they should have gone for a Comet 1 or 2.

Exactly mate.. and I might have gone for one myself  Never mind.. it didn't stop Addictive Simulations reproducing their versions of the VC10 and Trident.. and we all know how beautifully crafted they were :o
I wish em good luck with the Comet but a definate 'No Sale' from me ;-)
