Does anyone have in their possession a copy of Pooleys earlier than 1972
Looking for two airfield diagrams
Luton EGGW with 18-36 and 24-06 still operational as well as the Y taxiways rather than the paralell
and
Hitchin - Farm Aviations Strip at Rush Green
Thanks for any help
Leif

Re: request
Sorry, Leif, I can't help at the moment - the furthest I can go back with what I have at home is a set of Aerad charts dated August 1974 which don't have what you want. However, I'll keep an eye on this thread and if no one else has what you want I'll look in the library at Tangmere - which has a remarkable collection of old documents - when I'm there on Thursday.
Best

Re: request
Cheers Peter
74 - I think Farm Aviation had already packed up shop - and they were ready to start work on the additions to the "new" terminal at EGGW
Leif
Just want to see if its worth "retro" fitting LTN to be a true home from Autair heralds.HS748s and 1-11s and preahaps far enough back (Besides the "New" terminal it didnt change much from 1966-1971) for Britannia Brits, BMA Viscounts and C4s
and of course MacAlpines hangar with P166s , Cessna 310Ds and Helio Couriers Prehaps a Connie or two parked around the
back of Britannias hangar.........Be nice to turn the clock back forty years

Re: request
Sorry, Leif, but I failed miserably in finding anything of use in the museum library yesterday. :-( :-( :-(

Re: request
Thanks Tony
Its an excellent start
It gives what I need - the grass runway distances (which I couldn't remember)
This drawing must be around 69 or 70 as it shows Britannia's "new" hangar the 600 foot extension at the west end
and the engine run (overflow) east of the 18/36 and it shows the "spotties" enclosure up on the grass across the taxiway from the firestation (originally its was a tiny little concrete area between the terminal and BYs new facility. That grass area also
had a gate through the fence accessing the grass runway and its where we (then LFC) set up shop in the summer to do
pleasure flights usually with a 172 and either an Apache or Aztec

<--off to learn how to dismember scenery (id really like the old tower, and the northside hangars if I can persuade someone
to give them to me
