HU for the real gen!!

Post by hobby »

I am a member of the RAF Historical Society which for some years has run seminars on the RAF. The proceedings are published in softcover journals and many have just been made available for download at the RAF Museum Hendon website:

www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london/research/journals.cfm

This week I attended a seminar on the "Canberra" , very interesting for all eight papers were presented by the people who had done whatever they were talking about. Later the day's will be published. This is an excellent opportunity to find out about many ops and policies applied to the RAF from WWII onwards.

I commend the society to all of you.

Thanks for that, I have meaning to join for years, but not living in the UK now makes it a little less attractive. My all time favourite research book is written by a committee member ('Jeff' Jefford), ever met him?

Yes, I have met Jeff, he gave a talk on the Canberra in the FEAF on Tuesday and retired as a navigator Wing Commander to read for a history degree. I first met him when I was on the Royal Air Force Club Library Committee some years ago. He is the current editor of the published proceedings of the RAF HS.

It is not very expensive (£18.00) p.a. for membership of the RAFHS which includes receiving these really good softcover, sometimes hardcover, printed and illustrated proceedings of the lectures given at our seminars. Sorry to read that you are at present unable to attend any UK seminars or the AGM of the Society but please do join this excellent society.

Membership is open to all who have an interest in the history of the RAF.
