Online flights

Post by johnsmithe15 »

Im using FSInn (yes finally managed to get the beta version working properly on my Vistas FSX setup)

I would love to get one or more of you guys to do an online flight using VATSIM so I can get some great screenshots as given my aircraft database every other aircraft will be shown in its correct type and livery.

Anyone interested please say so and we can arrange a date and time

Can't even tempt one person into a great photo-op?

These are ones I have done with my other online VA Pan Am. I tend to be the designated photographer as I use FSInn and can get all the models and liveries right. Would be nice to see a couple of BOAC Super VC10s parked at Heathrow.

Last one is me on approach to Tenerife North for the PanAm KLM Memorial 2008.

As always, sorry if any non-Brit airframes cause offence. We can actually do a LOT better.

Hi Johnny :)

I honestly couldn't say how many of us here are VATSIM registered (I'm not) so this may be the reason for a lack of response mate. We DID have our own dedicated voice channel at one point (not sure if it's still active) and from what I remember, the takeup was minimal. I think the nature of the beast is that most of us don't acutally plan to fly or.. we know we'll have 'X' amount of time at one point of the day and 'X' amount in 6hrs time to make the return so we fly then.

I hope you get someone to join you but my flying is so erratic, I may nip a flight in in 10mins or not fly until tomorrow afternoon if then. Hang in there and something may pop up ;-)

No problem. I've always said Im into total immersion I fly my CBFS flights with FlyNet and online with VATSIM, I really prefer live ATC for approach and landing. It can be a pain when at cruise on a long flight if you are doing realtime because you have to keep listening even if you are the only person flying in the entire FIR.

I am working with two other guys at the moment on building a VA that incorporates more of the current software on offer to make as real as possible, and if we can build it into a VA website and make it work for all pilots. Im doing routes and some painting.....I am NO webhead LOL.

Looking at aspects of VATSIM, FlyNet, FSPax anything really that adds another small ammount of realism to the experience and I must say a LOT of the influence is from you guys at CBFS.

Online is great but with an ACARS like prog eg Flynet running too and gathering data you are able to offer pilots better structured training and support.

It is a blast getting involved with a fly-in like above but fully appreciate the way other people fly and time constraints. If I am busy I don't always show. Real life always comes first.
