I seem to be having a few problems with the autopilot in the C1K. I can't select an autothrottle speed greater than 180 kts and can set a climb rate (only decent) anyone else having this snag in fsx? (it could be I have an old file lurking, but I deleted everything before hand (I think) :dunno:

I suspect you mean in FSX?

I haven't got the problem, maybe mainly because I haven't installed it yet... but when I do (soon) I'll look into it first thing.

Yo Ben

Autothrottle doesn't operate above 180 kt in the VC10. It's probably been a long time since you flew it. :)

Sadly you have quickly found yet another small glitch with it in FSX though. Will it ever end?! :brick: :lol:
It depends on how you use the auto pilot.
I just tried it on FSX demo & if you select ALT hold, the DATUM ADJUST doesn't work properly. Jumps to 1500 for some reason.
Works perfectly well in FS2004.
DATUM ADJUST does work ok with IAS hold & MACH hold, just not ALT hold.

As a work around, use ALT as an ALT LOCK only. If you need to adjust height, disengage ALT & use the thumb wheels to set your Vertical Speed.
Same difference really.

------------------------------------------
By the way, in FSX if you want the extra sounds - Takeoff config warning, alt alert, Rotate call etc. you will need to edit a couple of files in the panel folder.
That is assuming you install your stuff into the default disaster that is the '\SimObjects\airplanes\' folder.
Edit Panel.cfg to be like this:-
gauge68=dsd_xml_sound3!dsd_xml_sound3, 2,2,5,5,.\SimObjects\airplanes\DMFS Shared Files\Vickers VC10 C1K Panel\DM_VC10_sound.ini

And edit DM_VC10_sound.ini to be like this:-
Sound00=./SimObjects/airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/Vickers VC10 C1K Panel/ALERT.wav
Sound01=./SimObjects/airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/Vickers VC10 C1K Panel/BEEP.wav
Sound02=./SimObjects/airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/Vickers VC10 C1K Panel/VOICE_V1.wav
Sound03=./SimObjects/airplanes/DMFS Shared Files/Vickers VC10 C1K Panel/VOICE_VR.wav

Just popped along to DM's and noticed the dates of the download files. The Standard VC10s are dated Apr 08 but the Super (VC10_1151_20061228.zip) is still showing Dec 06. As it is supposed to be the Super that has been updated, I thought I'd better check before spending time downloading and installing.

DM - is this correct?

Ian

The Super VC10 model hasn't been altered.

The news says...
The Standard VC10 & C1K models have finally been updated to match the improvements already made to the Super VC10 (way back in Dec 2006).
The RAF VC10 C1K panel has been updated to match as well.

Confusion is probably due to the link 'See details of those improvements here'.
That shows the improvements that were made to the Super VC10 way back. I couldn't be bothered making a new page to show the same changes on the Standard VC10.

New gear on the Standard & C1K is the main change.
C1K panel tarted up a bit.
A few small fixes for FSX users on both panels. (And now a few more on the way)

Btw. David, haven't you pepped up your previews as well? Didn't seem to remember that all of the images were click-able before?

If you have: Nice touch :thumbsup:

If you haven't: I'm getting old and sloppy. Image

Yup. That's what the confusion is due to. I'll stop thinking and just do it!

Thanks again.
